Our Very First Newsletter

Our Very First Newsletter

Welcome! You are receiving my newsletter because you signed up at one of my in-person workshops or last year's Conquer Your Scraps Summit. Either way -  I'm so happy that you let me into your inbox.

Two times a month I’ll be sharing with you ideas about:

  • Upcycling: Creatively giving clothes & textiles new life
  • Sewing Leather: Tips for sewing leather on your machine
  • Sustainability News: News that impacts our planet
  • Sewing Tips & Tricks: Sewing techniques, tips, tools, & more
  • My Teaching Schedule: Location of upcoming workshops

I started Sew Sustainably as a personal commitment  to exclusively use thrifted and upcycled materials in my sewing creations. I also make upcycling a part of the in-person sewing workshops that I teach. Many of my sewing projects include leather from old coats and jackets as well as vintage textiles.

Over the summer I have enjoyed working with the Houston Public Library system to bring sewing skills to their patrons. So far we've had four workshops with almost 50 enthusiastic newbie sewers participating.

o get this party started right, in the next few days I'll be sending you a tip from my book "11 Tips for Sewing Leather on Your Home Sewing Machine".  Look for the email and if you don't receive it check your spam or trash folders.

I have a video where I show you how to make the cute pyramid purse that is in the header of the newsletter. Many of you have already watched the video during last year's summit but in case you missed it, just head over to my blog for a link to the tutorial.

While I hope this is the beginning of a wonderful friendship of sharing, if you prefer not to receive future emails click the unsubscribe link below.
